Cozy Condo

A yearly event, my cousins and I would go to a coffee shop every January 1. This has been a tradition for at least 10 years now. After spending a couple of hours in Greenhills, my cousins decided to spend the rest of the afternoon at our condo.

This was brought about by the desire to watch Justice League and eat my pasta.

One of my cousins brought along a friend who had the bestest camera I have ever held. I'm no pro, but I know it's a DSLR. I wish to get one of those when I get to Singapore.

Given such beautiful camera, I decided to take pictures of our small and cozy 1 bedroom unit.

My Orange Kitchen My Yellow Messy Sala
My Bluish Bedroom
My Stripey Green Bathroom My Cluttered Kitchen Organizer
My Wall Mounted LCD

I love our home.

Better Wife or Better Officemate?

I am one of the few wives who, fortunately or unfortunately, work with their husbands.

We actually met in the same office where we work now. He left some two months before the wedding and got pirated back eight months after he resigned. In a way, it was a very good thing that happened to him. Minus the intrigues, of course. He got recognized for his talent and intelligence and this made him earn more than he did before. He didn't get promoted (despite original offer to him) and so we are at the same level, with a wide gap in salary.

I don't mind as wife. As an office mate, well, my salary leaves much to be desired.

Given that we are on the same level, we are pretty much overloaded with work. We are also working on some projects together. I managed them, while he's the end user.

This sometimes causes conflicts in our relationship. But only during work hours. Sometimes I get confused if I talk to him as an office mate or as a wife.

But it's a good deal, too, since we cut out all the red tape between our departments.

We have managed to stick with a rule that we don't discuss shop at home. This cannot be totally avoided since I have to work at home on some weekends and holidays. When we get to the car, we discuss work and our day like ordinary couples would (sometimes make chismis, too.) But when we enter our home, it's our time together or do our own thing.

There are fringe benefits that I am grateful for. Like going to and from work without worries cause I get to have a driver, as well as a husband and an office mate. Though the saves on fare normally goes to the gas and parking. A lunch mate who makes me baon in the morning, but who I have to cook for the night before.

I know I am good at what I do at work. I've been told and recognized so by my colleague and my bosses. But who can tell me that I am a good wife? Only my husband could.

With him seeing how I conduct myself in both arenas, sometimes I think I'm a better office mate to my husband, than I am as his wife.

Adjusting Wife

I have been married for 263 days today. That's 8 months and 19 days. 6,312 hours or 378,720 minutes (give or take a few).

I used to have a blog entitled "Passenger in a Trip Called Life". I could not bear to delete it but I could not bear continuing it. Maybe because I am a different person from the author of those posts. I respect my past because I wouldn't be who I am right now if it wasn't for all that happened to me. This is why I couldn't delete the memories I had. Granted that one day, I may forget all the good (and the bad) things that happened to me.

As I write my maiden post, I think of where I am today:

I am an adjusting wife.

Aside from me stating the obvious, I feel it's the biggest understatement of my life.
