Doctor#3

Last Sunday, I found out I wasn't pregnant (again). I texted my ob-gyn and she referred me to another doctor "who helps those who cannot help themselves." This would be our third doctor in a year.

We saw the doctor yesterday and we like him. Yes, him. This will be the first male ob-gyn that I will have but I think he's very credible. After all, I just found out that he's the "Head of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Unit and Gynecologic Endoscopy unit at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology" at the hospital we went to.

What I like more about this doctor is that he asked questions and probed on our history and medicines that we were supposedly not taking. He asked me to have my blood tested for the 7 Hormones:

  • Follicle Stimulating Hormone
  • Luteinizing Hormone
  • Estradiol
  • Testosterone
  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
  • Prolactin
  • Free Thyroxine

He explained all 7 hormones and told me not to stress. He asked me to have the blood checked 3 hours after I wake up, which is 2 hours from now.

He told me to stop taking the medicine initially advised and have a two weeks washout period before taking a fasting insulin test.

Hubby is also supposed to take some test. Unfortunately, the hospital we went to only spews out normal results. He has to go to another hospital and have the tests done there.

Optimistic as it may seem, I think we are headed in the right direction. We have been praying for this and God directed us to the right doctor. Hopefully, something (or someone) comes out of this effort.
